What to Expect

Centered on the Gospel. Growing in Grace. Following Jesus Together.

At Mountain View, you’ll find a community of loving, Gospel-centered people. We are all in process, sometimes a little messy, but always real and always finding our center in the grace of Jesus. The heartbeat of our community is sharing that Good News through worship, prayer, Bible study, service, and everyday life.

What to Expect

Whether you’ve been in church your whole life, have never attended before, or are returning after time away, our desire is for you to feel welcomed, accepted, and at home from the moment you arrive. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
  • Meaningful contemporary worship
  • Expository, Bible-centered preaching
  • Friendly people who are glad you’re here
  • Coffee before the service
  • Family style service where all ages can worship together
  FELLOWSHIP TIME
After the church service we enjoy a small meal or light snacks and fellowship time downstairs. There’s a sign-up sheet to bring snacks for everyone. It’s a relaxing time to get better connected with everyone. The kids can play on the lawn and playground at the community center.

Families Welcome

Kids at MVBC

Helping kids grow in faith while supporting parents every step of the way.

For babies & preschoolers, elementary children, & middle schoolers.

Whether in the nursery, Sunday School, or the worship service, children are welcomed, valued, and encouraged to grow in their faith. We provide safe, age-appropriate environments and practical resources that help kids engage with God’s Word while worshiping alongside their church family.

Giving

Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

We do not take a traditional offering during our worship services. Instead, our regular attenders are encouraged to place their tithes and offerings in a Giving Basket that’s placed in the back on the Welcome Table sometime during the morning. In this way, our giving is private and there are no awkward times of “passing the plates” during our worship meetings.

Online giving can also be done easily through this link.

Communion

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lords death until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26

Two sacred activities (called ordinances) were given to the New Testament church: baptism and communion.  We share in Communion as part of our worship to the Lord multiple times a month.

All are welcome to partake in Communion with the understanding that it is a somber remembrance of Christ’s death and resurrection to cover our sins (spiritual mistakes) and shared as renewal of our commitment to live for Him because He gave His life for us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about visiting, what to expect, and how to get connected.

Where should I go once I arrive?

Park in front of the church. We’ll have a host at the door to welcome you and point you in the right direction.

What will happen at my first visit?

Relax and enjoy. We will not ask you to stand up or make a fuss. We’ll shake your hand and say hello. Many people want to check out our church quietly for a while, and that is perfectly fine! Come see if Mountainview is the right fit for you.

What is your dress code?

Don’t worry about what to wear — Mountainview is a multigenerational church where you’ll feel at home no matter what you wear: t-shirts, shorts, jeans or something dressier. God doesn’t care what you wear, and neither do we.

What programs are available for kids & students?

We have separate programming for babies/preschoolers, elementary-age children, middle schoolers, and high school students. All leaders pass a background and spiritual formation check. Check our

Do you have a check-in process for kids?

Yes. First-time guests complete brief paperwork at check-in. To save time at the door, you can pre-register your children online before you arrive.

How can I meet others & get connected?

Some of the best growth happens outside the sanctuary:

  • Connections Counter — stop by any Sunday for a free gift and answers to your questions.
  • New Beginnings Class — 8 weeks covering what being Fully Devoted to Jesus looks like at Mountainview.
  • C-Groups — small groups meeting throughout the week in homes and restaurants.
  • Classes & Conferences — check the events page and subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Serve in a ministry — discover your gifts and connect with the right team.

Ready to visit?
